Highlights from the ENERGETIC Summer School 2025 at TalTech

From 9 to 11th June 2025, TalTech hosted an enriching ENERGETIC Summer School that brought together leading experts to explore the frontier of battery energy storage and smart Battery Management Systems (BMS). Participants engaged with a well-rounded programme covering advanced sensing technologies, AI-driven digital twins, and innovative approaches to both first-life (transport) and second-life (stationary) battery applications.

Sessions delved into embedding low-cost ultrasonic/thermal sensors, harmonizing multiphysics and data‑driven modelling tools for real-time State-of-Health and Remaining Useful Life (SoH/RUL) prediction, and cloud-enabled predictive maintenance strategies, all underpinned by explainable AI. These in-depth discussions highlighted the pivotal role of AI-enhanced BMS for reliable, flexible, and decarbonised energy systems in support of the European Green Deal goals
